How Placement Works

Fresh Steps uses a simple application and review process. Each application is reviewed to determine whether our housing and available support are a good fit for the participant’s needs. Participants are expected to follow house rules and pay program fees on time.
We accept self-referrals and agency referrals. Case managers and support people are welcome to be involved, but they are not required.

Additional Support Available
Essentials Add-On: Participants can choose an optional essentials add-on that sets aside funds for small personal needs, such as hygiene items and other approved essentials. Details are provided during the application process.
Individual Transitional Supports: Participants can ask about personalized support with independent-living skills, accessing transportation, managing finances, continuing education, and maintaining stable housing. Details about eligibility and available services are discussed during the application process.

Move-In Process
• Complete an application and share your housing needs and preferred room type.
• Applications are reviewed, and qualified applicants are contacted about suitable openings, program fees, and next steps.
• Once accepted and the placement fee is paid, your spot is held for two weeks, and you’ll receive the required paperwork and move-in instructions. Your monthly program fee is due when you move in.
